Two weeks ago our whole family was able to go out and see Mary in Ruby Valley, Nevada for the weekend and meet all of Sam’s family. When we got there we got out of the car to see a bunch of cows. Eric excitedly run up to them and said, “Oh hello, moos!” He loved every minute of seeing cows, horses, cats, kittens, dogs and goats. We even got to see a cattle branding/castration. We all had the chance to ride horses and Eric showed no fear whatsoever. In fact, it was hard to keep him from walking up to random horses and trying to climb up the stirrups.
Beth and I were also able to go to Mary’s bridal shower. Mary sure is loved by the ladies there in the valley. Beth also won them all over after just a few minutes. By the way, Mary, is our gift coming in handy? Is it helpful?
My only regret is that we did not take more pictures, it is a beautiful place. Here are a few of the ones we did get.

First time blogger
This is my first attempt at blogging. I created this after hearing a family member say how much they loved reading blogs for family that live far away. I love to read my sibling’s blogs so why not create my own.
I am very happy to announce that Beth slept through the night, a full 9 hours, for the first time last week! She was just 71/2 weeks old. Now, I know that this is not a permanent thing yet, but it gives me great hope for the near future. She now sleeps regularly 5 to 6 hours a night so I can't complain too loudly.
I swear that the kids have a pact to never allow me a nap during the day. Last week I had some bad nights and I was very much in need of a nap. Beth was asleep but Eric was giving me a hard time about going down. I finally said that Mommy was going to take a nap and I would see him later. I settled myself in bed and then heard Eric come out of his room and close his door. He then proceeded to take the next 10 minutes and carefully sneak down the hall, across my floor and into bed with me. I was studiously ignoring him until he looked up at me, tucked his hands behind his head and said with surprise, "Oh, hi mommy".
I just love this little boy; he is such a joy and keeps me so busy that my head spins. Life is great.
